Mr. Buckley lived in Broward County he realized that we needed a center for adults with disabilities. Over the past years, Lucanus has grown very much we have included multiple group homes and an Adult Training Program.

On October 18,1978 Lucanus Center became a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This dedicating to helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Lucanus also emphasizes the development of ethical and moral values. Our center places great importance on the concept of social interaction. The focus is on how consumers as individuals and as a community can help improve themselves and their world. Lucanus aspires to be an integral part of the community as well as focus on human right for all people. Our center acknowledges the inequalities in our society and emphasizes philanthropy to its fullest.
